A painful learning experience – To Hong Kong and back! Getting there…

In the weeks and months leading up to the departure I had become great at juggling. Trying to make the right choice between continuing to trial for the Artemis Offshore Academy and going out to HK. Ultimately HK won as it gave me the chance to see my father, learn how to commission a boat and go racing on what would become the top boat in the area. To make it even better, there was an opportunity to gain some serious mileage on A2 (even though the delivery down and the Middle Sea Race) delivering her back from the Med.

It was with all that expectation and joy of having it all mapped out that I packed my bags and made my way to the airport…

I suppose things started to go a bit upside down from that point. The train was delayed making me rather late to meet with a couple of people. Still, it was fantastic Sushi and hot chocolate (didn’t even burn my mouth!). Then came the long journey to the airport on the underground seeing as there was no difference between the Piccadilly line and the Airport Express…

Still, the airport redeemed itself by having really chatty people on the desks, even twisting their arm for a slightly more leg suitable seat! In fairness the flight was pretty empty so you could almost have a row to yourself!

We'd love to hear from you!
